In deciding where to go to graduate school, I felt that there opportunities opening up in the Pacific Northwest. I liked the quantitative focus of Oregon State and started in their program in 1980.

The program focused on the case study method. Focus areas included international finance, consumer behavior, decision making, planning and strategy. In December, I was voted in as President of the Graduate Business Students, an office I held until I left OSU.

I completed the MBA program and earned the degree in August, 1981. However, OSU only formally awards degrees in June. Therefore the graduation date on my diploma is June, 1982 although I had completed the program almost a year before. I achieved academic excellence with a 3.9 GPA. graduating at the top of the class
